Je ne savais même pas que le Planning Familial avait été un mouvement d’éducation populaire –avant. Je croyais que c’était une excroissance de l’Etat, voilà tout, une succursale. J’étais loin d’imaginer que ça avait été, et est toujours le principal exemple d’une association d’éducation populaire… devenue une véritable institution. Mais était-ce nécessaire ?

Un bulletin trimestriel du Mouvement Français pour le Planning Familial (MFPF), publié en 1961 évoquait clairement l’adversaire : « l’ignorance des familles et des couples au regard de la procréation ». Ce genre de combat est comme tous les autres combats humanistes : il se gagne dans le mouvement. En avançant. Sans jamais s’arrêter. Un peu comme dans la citation célèbre : « la révolution, c’est comme une bicyclette, quand elle n’avance pas, elle tombe ».
