“Mon père, Germain Tsalla Mekongo,  a été l’une des figures de l’indépendance, il a été ministre de finances dans le premier gouvernement camerounais au lendemain de l’indépendance sous Ahidjo (qui fut placé à la présidence du Cameroun par l'État sans légitimité). Il était issu d’un mouvement d’opposition modéré et non pas radical, sinon il n’aurait pu accéder au pouvoir.
