Né en 1922 à Soudouré à 12 km de la capitale du Niger, fervent militant apolitique pour la suppression des peines de l’indigénat et du travail forcé aux côtés d’Houphouet Boigny...

Il rejoint en 1946 le Parti Progressiste du Niger et y fut hissé en 1947 à la tête, au poste de secrétaire générale du PPN devenu section territoriale nigérienne du rassemblement démocratique africain (RDA). Ce démarquage rencontra un vif succès populaire.
